About Kuala Lumpur

A melting pot of Malay, Chinese and Indian communities, Kuala Lumpur (KL) is the colourful capital of Malaysia that is a feast to all your senses. The mixture of cultures means there are temples and mosques, the traditional and the cosmopolitan, the old and the new and not to mention it offers a world renown cuisine. The city provides plenty to do with mega shopping malls, lush parks, street markets and a vibrant nightlife. English being a main language in Malaysia also makes it easy to get around.

Why do an internship in Kuala Lumpur?

KL has evolved into Malaysia’s cosmopolitan capital city. With Malaysia offering genuine international diversity and an environment that has been undergoing rapid economic development, opportunities exist in hospitality and tourism, engineering (there is a vibrant oil & gas sector) and manufacturing. Add to that a growing knowledge based economy with IT and digital playing major roles. The Malaysian government has a goal for KL to be a major financial and services centre in the region so legal and business related positions are also available. Foreign ownership laws in the manufacturing sector have been relaxed and a range of incentives implemented to attract investors in priority areas such as operational headquarters, regional distribution centres and international procurement centres. The government has also invested heavily in infrastructure to facilitate both efficient business and a high standard of living.
